CHALLENGES OF HAKATONFILL IN THE PARTICIPANT FORM

HACK4LINAVA

We invite you to come up with new ideas in hackathon

Event to promote new ideas and innovation

The Lithuanian National Road Carriers’ Association Linava, a member of the International Road Transport Union (IRU) and Ministry of Transport and Communications invites carrier community to participate in event „HACK4LINAVA“, which will take place on May 27-29 in Vilnius, and will aim to find solutions to the issues faced by carriers related to driver shortages, preservation of competitiveness, challenges in Eastern countries and establishment of new markets.

Transport innovation

We are convinced that the event, which presents transport innovations, exchanges ideas and at the same time seeks the best solutions, will help the country’s entrepreneurs to take a fresh look at the transportation and logistics business. In addition, contacts are formed at such events, opportunities are seen on how to solve emerging challenges together

Reports and discussions

The event will be attended by prominent Lithuanian business and science representatives, economists, professionals from transport, information technology and other sectors.

„HACK4LINAVA“ objectives

With the help of hackathon participants, we will seek not only to answer the questions raised, but also to turn the ideas together with them into projects that Linava will implement by attracting funds from investment funds and IRU.

Challenges of Hackaton

The organizers hope that this event will allow entrepreneurs to get the new ideas, encourage the implementation of new innovations int the transport sector, and thus contribute to increasing the competiveness of Litguanian carriers

1

Improving the competence of drivers in order to prevent and reduce losses incurred by companies

Innovative competency testing solutions (eg tests) should be sought. It was suggested how to improve driver training programs by applying modern technologies that will help to improve the driver’s practical skills (eco-driving, safe transport of goods, compliance with drivers work and rest regimes, etc.)

2

Digitalization of travel permits

Lithuania annually issues more than 400 thousand paper permits and the like, so it is necessary to look for a digital solution for issuing and controlling permits

3

Business reorientation after assessing the geopolitical situation

Solutions are expected to make it easier for carriers to find new markets and increase their competitiveness

4

Promotion of the drivers profession

Participants should provide solutions that enable carriers to engage young people and women in the work of the driver

5

Optimization of logistic processes

In the short term, we will have to pursue the goals of the Green Course and the social well-being or drivers. Solutions that ensure 100 percent truck loading will not only save money, but also helps to achieve maximum operational efficiency. We need to use digital solutions that can ensure that drivers in international transport can return home to their families after 8-10 hours a day
